Excuse the world's worst pics but this feeder spins plus it's thru a window. Anyhow, this ragged, ruffled-looking blue tit has been around since Spring. It was one of a pair that nested in the garden, the other bird doing all the nest-building. Then all went quiet. We thought we'd lost him/her. Recently there has been a great gathering of young blue tits on the feeder, and he has been about, looking worse than ever. He is very wary of being out in the open. Feather mites, disease, anyone have any ideas? I'll see if a better pic can be had.
This blog is about my passions, climbing trees and studying birds. Most are of my own local and licensed bird monitoring, including ringing birds under license. And tree climbing adventures, sharing the magic for when you are stuck in the office and need a spot of day-dreaming to help you through! Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions. For my day job I run Wild Tree Adventures taking people high up into the canopy.
