Perched above a small river is a buzzard nest. There's lots of oak and ash and as I entered the trees I was looking up for the usual silhouette of a big nest against the sky. Imagine my surprise when I spotted the nest sat on the banking - you can see how easy it would be for a fox or badger to just stroll right in and have buzzard pie for dinner! There was one fine looking chick which was not far off fledging and by now it will be catching it's own rabbits to eat.
This blog is about my passions, climbing trees and studying birds. Most are of my own local and licensed bird monitoring, including ringing birds under license. And tree climbing adventures, sharing the magic for when you are stuck in the office and need a spot of day-dreaming to help you through! Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions. For my day job I run Wild Tree Adventures taking people high up into the canopy.
